Helpful Assessments

Psychological Assessments give insight into a person. There are an abundance of assessments available. Assessments such as Myers Briggs are prominent in many different spaces. Other people prefer assessments such as the Enneagram or Strengthfinders.

Each assessment has something it is focused on to help a person to gain insight and give language to the "type" or "strengths" that a person presents with at a moment in time. There can be downside to assessments - people can feel labeled and misunderstood. A person may feel like they lose their uniqueness given that the world's population gets divided up into a limited number of options. At the same time, assessments can help give awareness to a person on ways they approach problems, communication and even conflict.

At GJ Counselling, we offer 3 assessments.

First, the Cerny Smith Stress Assessment is an assessment that can in a moment of time help to assess where areas of stress are in your life and help you to make an actionable plan to manage stress.

Second, the Intercultural Developmental Inventory assesses individuals' and groups’ mindset towards cultural differences and similarities. IDI results are summarized in easy to understand reports that can help you and your team get started in their intercultural development.

Third, the Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory provides in-depth insights on an individual’s core approach for communicating about differences, resolving conflicts and solving problems.
