Anger can feel like a bubbling up of frustration. Sometimes people experience anger as an escalation where it builds from a small feelings to an overwhelming feeling - sometimes a feeling of rage.

Is anger normal?

Mild anger is felt broadly across people and felt by most people during most days (note 1). However, anger can escalate and bring on harmful actions, words or even violence towards oneself or others.

How do you manage anger?

What does it mean to manage anger? Anger can manifest in:

fits of rage

bitter feelings

outbursts

yelling and screaming

Managing those symptoms can be challenging, to begin to manage anger, one has to begin to learn to self regulate emotions. Self regulation is the concept of managing our nervous systems. This can be done with deep breathing and mindfulness and is a process. When a person 'loses their temper', they are moving from regulation to dis-regulation.
